The season of Lent is the 40-day period (minus Sundays) leading up to Resurrection Sunday. It is a time to focus special attention on our discipleship, centering our souls on the life of Jesus Christ. The 40 days of Lent mirror the 40 days Jesus spent being tempted by Satan in the wilderness, so Lent often involves times of prayer and fasting.
Our Lenten sermon series this year.

We live in a divisive world where everyone has their own opinion of who God is, and we often have a hard time listening to one another. It's always best to go straight to the source. As we pay special attention these 40 days to following Jesus, each Sunday we will gather together to hear how Jesus described himself: as the bread of life, the light of the world, the good shepherd, and more. Each Sunday, we'll be invited into a deeper, more meaningful walk with Jesus; a walk that brings light and life into even the darkest, most difficult days.

Dear Northminster Friends,
I wanted to share with you the news that Sasha Childs, our Children's Ministry Coordinator, is leaving her ministries at Northminster. Yes, "ministries" because Sasha has been faithfully serving both in Kids Ministry and in the Learning Center. What a wonderful blessing Sasha has been over these past two+ years. I am grateful, as is the Session, for all the ways Sasha has served Northminster children and families. Sasha's heart and work has been about sharing the love of Jesus and making disciples who know and love the LORD.
Sasha's last day in the church office will be Wednesday, March 19 and in the Learning Center on Friday, March 21. We will celebrate Sasha's ministry and say "thank you" to her on Sunday, March 16 during worship. I hope you will express your own words of thanks to Sasha when you see her around the church in the next couple of weeks.
Do SAVE THE DATE ~ for Vacation Bible School (VBS) coming Sunday, June 22-Thursday, June 26. More registration and volunteer news coming soon.
With God's blessings for Sasha and Northminster Church!
<>< Pastor Jennifer

The Northminster Learning Center has raised, $4,565 for kids at St. Jude Children’s Hospital. We are taking donations through Friday, March 7th. Our goal is $5,000 and to provide a child with a room in the ICU for a day!

The purpose of CR is to find God's healing power in our lives through the 8 Recovery Principles found in the Beatitudes and the Christ-centered 12 Steps.
Principle 5: Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects.
“Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires.”
(Matthew 5:6)
Step 6: We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” (James 4:10)
Step 7: We humbly asked Him to remove all our shortcomings.
We are looking for leaders & sponsors!
