Re: Weekly Update
May 8, 2025
FIRST WORDS ...
Pastor Jennifer Cummins

Isaiah 43:18-19

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

I admit it here and now! I am excited for the start of Summer. Something new is just around the corner. I always breathe a sigh of relief with the students as the school year is winding down, the last paper or project is done, the final test is complete and HERE COMES SUMMER! Bring it on. I am ready with you all.

We can look forward to a change of pace and whatever fun the summer months invite! Is God about to do a new thing? Yes!

Even this Summer God is working out new adventures and new experiences for you! The LORD is faithful and He has good in store for us, we need only to trust Him.  This weekend we are going to look at God’s Word through His prophet Isaiah, to discover why it is worth it to trust the God in the new things He is doing. Come on and bring somebody with you!

See you Sunday, <>< Pastor Jennifer

CULVER'S DINE OUT NIGHT UPDATE!

Thank you to EVERYONE who supported Youth Ministries at Culver’s on Tuesday, May 6. They raised $1313.46 to put towards ~ Youth Mission Trips!

SPRING FOOD DRIVE UPDATE
Food for Families – 2025 Spring Food Drive
Thank you for your generosity and willingness to donate and/or deliver canned goods to the Prospect United Methodist Food Pantry. Your support makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need in our community.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:35-36; 40 – ‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ ... ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Please donate your gently used shoes for the high school students to take with them on their summer mission trip. The students will be working at a mission partner called Soles for Jesus where they will be cleaning and sorting the shoes. The shoes will ultimately end up in impoverished areas of Africa along with the gospel message.

YPM ~ MEXICO MISSION TRIPS – 2026

https://www.ypmusa.org/

With Cinco de Mayo this week, it's the perfect time to start planning for the 2026 NPC YPM Mexico Mission Trips! This marks our 20th consecutive year partnering with Yucatan Peninsula Mission (YPM) — a milestone worth celebrating.

📅 Trip Dates

We are organizing three weekly trips in early 2026:
● Week 1: January 27 – February 3
● Week 2: February 3 – 10
● Week 3: February 10 – 17

Each week will include 12 to 14 participants (though there’s always room for one more!). Participants are welcome — and encouraged — to stay for multiple weeks!

Typical Weekly Schedule
● Tuesday: Travel to Mexico
● Wednesday–Saturday: Mission project work
● Sunday: Worship and cultural immersion with a local Mayan community
● Monday: Group-selected fun day
● Tuesday: Return home

🛠 Project Focus
This year, we’ll continue construction efforts by working on the second building on the IYPM campus. Each week will also include interactions with local university and high school students, offering meaningful cross-cultural engagement.

❄ Why Go?
January and February can be chilly here — it’s a great time to head south and make a lasting impact while
staying warm!
